Looking for an art class not yet offered or listed?

Contact the Artists Guild of Columbia County to set one up. We have instructors who can teach: Drawing, Pastels, Painting (Acrylic, Oil or Watercolor), jewelry and more.  

It takes 3 registered students for a class to make.

    Students will learn to draw from life using different drawing, coloring and painting media. Students who began the drawing class during a previous month may continue taking the class but will be taught additional advanced techniques which they can apply to the skills already learned. Students will progress through different media, graphite, color pencil, pastels and paint.

    All students and teachers will be asked to ware a mask during the class.

    6-12 year olds

    Learn how to expand your love of art by working in different art mediums. This class will offer instruction in drawing, painting, collage or ceramic sculpture. Students who began the class during a previous offering may continue taking the class but will be taught additional advanced techniques in their chosen media, which they can apply to the skills already learned.

    All students and teachers will be asked to ware a mask during the class.

    Learn to paint from Atlanta based artist Barbra Dickerson. She has taught painting for over 24 years in and around Atlanta but is now offering these classes to the Augusta area. She has shown along the east coast form Gloucester, Ma. to Miami Fl.and then as far west as St. Louis Mi.

    She is very proficient in color mixing to create a mood in her paintings and how to capture accurate depth perception based on color intensity.

    This class is for you if you are seeking the techniques to gain confidence in color, light and composition for your painting style.

    All painting abilities are welcome from beginners, novice and experienced.

    These classes can be for acrylic or oil paints because she has the experience to teach both. She helps each person to realize their talent.

    All students and teachers will be asked to ware a mask during the class.

    Draw and develop your own illustration style while diving into creating your own manga inspired graphic novel. Learn to use ones love of manga to create the foundations for your own graphic novels and even learn how to collaborate with others on their projects. In this class, students will be able to learn how to use a variety of materials, experiment with format, write scripts and form a process to find the best way to illustrate their own graphic novel stories.

    Students who have previously taken the class in another offering can learn additional techniques and fine tune old skills to add complexity and life to their projects.

    All students and teachers will be asked to ware a mask during the class.

    Teens or ages 10-17
